Another year of ‘doing good stuff’!

ABPreview24

As 2024 draws to a close, we’re reflecting on some of the great projects and initiatives we’ve worked on over the past 12 months.

We kicked off the year with a major redesign and rebuild of the Andy Taylor Foundation website; transforming it from a 1-page information site to an all-singing, all-dancing online home, showcasing what they’re all about.  The Foundation gives opportunities to young people wanting to work in the creative industries who are from backgrounds that are sadly neglected by this sector.  They’re doing great work, so take a closer look at them by visiting their (rather lovely) website here.

Next up, we worked with another existing client, Rimrose Valley Friends, to deliver a project aimed at raising awareness of air pollution and encouraging behavioural change in the way people travel from A to B.  This was incredibly rewarding and we got to work with some fantastic school kids who, as ever, were WAY more clued up than the rest of us. To see what we produced together, head here.

We then completed two projects with one, shared vision – tackling the climate emergency.

Zero Carbon Liverpool have been around for a number of years, but never had a place to call home.

Having seen our work for other clients, they got in touch and we set about designing and building one for them. As their name suggests, they’re all about encouraging people and organisations to be aware of their CO2 emissions and to take steps to reduce them. Hop over here to find out more and to see what we created for them.

Another organisation impressed by our work were Climate Emergency UK. They contacted us with a request to redesign their existing, text-and-data-heavy website into something fresh and engaging. Their brief was to make what they do obvious, to encourage greater engagement with their target audiences… and to look like a professional, attractive proposition to potential funders and partners. We reckon we did OK.  Take a look here.

In amongst this, we did a little pro bono project for a coalition of community groups based in Liverpool, seeking to improve quality of life for those living in their communities.  They call themselves the South Sefton Communities Alliance and, as they’re doing important work, we wanted to help them look like an organisation to be reckoned with! One distinctive logo and a rather dashing website later, and they were up and running.

But how could we end our round up without mentioning the seismic result achieved by the Save Rimrose Valley campaign? For almost 7 years, we’ve supported their fight against a government road proposal with a wide range of comms, including a website, social media graphics, poster/placard/banner designs, flyers, videos… and more. You name it, together, we’ve done the lot!

And together WE WON! The road project was cancelled in the Chancellor’s Autumn Budget, which was a huge victory for people power over major political and corporate institutions.

This is EXACTLY the kind of project we started A Better Planet for.  Putting the power of good communications to good use… and getting results.

We wanted to take the opportunity to wish everyone a great Christmas and here’s to a happy, healthy and peaceful 2025.

And here’s to continuing to “stick it to the man!” ✊
